For this session Garry started off with presentation. He showed us some inspiring architecture buildings and talked about it. The aim for it is to inspire us and make us understand that creativity have no boundaries and we have to think outside the box.

I think the idea for this is to make something look like something that already exist but with different purpose which is very cleverly design.

After Garry presentation, our fashion tutor Beverley also gave us presentation to show us how architecture have influenced in fashion and so many fashion designers take inspiration from it.
One of the most famous designer that combine architecture into fashion is Chalayan Hussein.
After the presentation, our tutor told us as a group discuss what else foldaway house can be. We have to imagine what it can be when its human size or its very tiny or very big. We came up with some crazy ideas. From this what I learned is that as a designer we always try to design something that have a function or have a purpose. So sometimes we limit our ideas. To be able create something unique we have to think outside the box and the idea can be as crazy as possible because later we can develop it and make it fit for purpose.
After he group discussion we were asked to draw the speed toil from different angle.
After that we were asked to imagine it as 20m and add human figure on it. The purpose for this task is to make simple shape into something functional. When I added the figure it looks something like play area. You can hide, slide, jump and do many more fun things.
I fold the same toil inside out and again draw it from different angle.
After finish drawing from the different angle we had to look at is as 2meter and draw on it to make a function. When I look at it I can see a big flower on the garment so I draw human figure and made it as a dress.
This task helped me to understand that you don’t have to draw perfectly or when you are developing you idea you don’t have to have purpose for it. You can always add it at the end.
